Evangelical Reformed Churches
Since the Reformation , which was carried out in Zurich by Huldrych Zwingli in 1523, the city of Zurich has been a stronghold of Protestantism in Switzerland. Due to secularization and the immigration of people of different faiths, the proportion of Reformed people in Zurich is dwindling. The Evangelical Reformed Church operates 47 church buildings in the city of Zurich (as of 2015). In addition, it maintains several ecumenical churches.
