The Arak – Chosrawi railway is a railway line in Iran .

Geographical location

It leads from Arak , which has a connection to the railroad network of the Islamic Republic of Iran , in a westerly direction via Malayer and Kermanshah to Chosrawi on the border with Iraq . From Chosrawi there are still about 10 km to the Peak of the Iraqi railway in Khanaqin . Cross-border traffic is sought.

Technical parameters

The line is to be around 450 km long and is single-track .

A first section between Arak and Malayer and, since May 9, 2017, a second section between Malayeh and Firuzan went into operation. The line to Kermanshah was opened on March 19, 2018 . The rest of the route to Khosrawi is under construction.
