history

The line was opened on November 1, 1887. In 2006/07, the Ratahallintokeskus (RHK) renewed the superstructure between Bennäs and Larsmovägen (a total of 12 km). The wooden railway sleepers were removed and replaced with concrete sleepers. In addition, the embankments were widened and the level crossings improved. The costs amounted to around 5 million euros .

There are 13 level crossings along the route, 3 of which are secured. In 2011 1.8 million tons of goods were transported on the route.
