The Beted – Skillingsfors railway was a 19-kilometer standard-gauge railway in Sweden . It was built by Dal – Västra Värmlands Järnvägsaktiebolag , founded on November 2, 1914 .

On September 22, 1914, the concession for the Järnskog - Skillingsfors line was granted by the royal authority Väg– och Vattenbyggnadsstyrelsen (VoV). Theodor Helleberg carried out the planning from the turn of the year 1914/15 until mid-1915. The line was to be built as a branch line of the Mellerud – Arvika railway line . Due to the First World War and the economic difficulties that followed, the construction work was only awarded to Skånska Cementgjuteriet on June 28, 1923 . The commissioning was scheduled for 1 October 1926th The branch station was built in Beted. However, due to further delays in construction, the provisional handover for freight traffic did not take place until December 17, 1927. The route was finally opened for freight and passenger traffic on March 1, 1928.

Rails with a weight per meter of 18 kg / m were laid for the route . At first only vehicles from Bergslagernas Järnvägar (BJ) were used. A locomotive shed with a 12-meter turntable was built in Skillingsfors for operation .

With the bankruptcy of Dal – Västra Värmlands Järnvägsaktiebolag on June 8, 1936, its takeover on September 1, 1937 by Järnvägsaktiebolaget Dal – Västra Värmland , the transfer of this company on July 1, 1947 to Trafikförvaltningen Göteborg – Dalarne – Gävle and its takeover on July 1, 1948 by the SJ , the line came into state ownership.

In the second half of the 1950s and early 1960s, traffic on the route decreased sharply. Nevertheless, the laid rails were replaced in 1958 by ones with a weight per meter of 24.3 to 27 kg / m, but this had no effect on the maximum permitted speed.

Therefore SJ requested the closure of the route, which was approved on 25 November 1960th The last passenger train ran on May 27, 1961, and all traffic ceased on May 28, 1961. Scheduled freight traffic ended on June 1, 1958, after which freight wagons were only delivered when needed .

The route was dismantled a short time after the closure.
