Beijing – Shenyang railway line

The Beijing – Shenyang railway is a high-speed line in the northern Chinese province of Hebei .

history

Construction work began in spring 2014. On December 29, 2018, the Chengde - Shenyang section of the line was opened.

Technical parameters

The double-track , electrified line is approx. 700 km long and is designed for a top speed of 350 km / h . The Chengde – Shenyang section, which opened at the end of 2018, is 506 km long, although it is initially driven here at "only" 300 km / h. The cost of building this section was 124.5 billion renminbi (16.1 billion euros ).

traffic

The fastest connections on the new line between Chengde and Shenyang now run with a journey time of 2:15 hours. The fastest connection on the existing route took 11 hours.

future

Construction is still going on on the missing, almost 200 km long section between Beijing and Chengde (April 2019). It should go into operation at the end of 2020.
