from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bailinga Uprising in the 1860s was one of the major peasant armed uprisings in areas of Manchuria and eastern Inner Mongolia against the Manchu rule of the Chinese Qing dynasty . The uprising broke out in the Josutu League in 1860 . Its leader was the Mongol Bailinga († 1868) from the Juu-Uda League , today Chifeng (Ulanhad), Inner Mongolia . In 1861 troops invaded Chaoyang and Chifeng areas, and in 1862 the uprising failed. Also in 1867, Balinga was involved in the armed uprising in the Jianchang and Chaoyang areas and was killed by the Qing forces.
