Chifeng ( Ulanhad ) is a prefecture-level city in the northeast of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . Chifeng is the seat of a Roman Catholic bishop. The city has an administrative area of 90,275 km² and around 4.31 million inhabitants (end of 2016). 902,285 people live in the actual urban settlement area of Chifeng (2010 census). Administrative structure
The administrative area of Chifeng City consists of three boroughs, two counties and seven banners:
- Hongshan District (红山区), 170 km², 300,000 inhabitants;
- Yuanbaoshan District (元宝山 区), 887 km², 290,000 inhabitants;
- Songshan District (松山区), 5,955 km², 540,000 residents;
- District Ningcheng (宁城县) km² 4305, 600,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Tianyi (天义镇);
- Linxi district (林西县), 3,933 km², 240,000 inhabitants, main town: Linxi municipality (林西 镇),
- Ar-Horqin-Banner (阿鲁 科尔沁 旗), 14,555 km², 300,000 inhabitants, main town: Tianshan municipality (天 山镇);
- Left Bairin banner (巴林 左旗), 6,713 km², 350,000 inhabitants, main town: Lindong municipality (林 东镇);
- Right Bairin banner (巴林右旗), 9,837 km², 180,000 inhabitants, main town: Daban municipality (大 板 镇);
- Witches banner (克什克腾旗), 20,673 km², 250,000 inhabitants, main town: Jingpeng municipality (经 棚 镇);
- Ongniud-Banner (翁牛特旗), 11,882 km², 470,000 inhabitants, main town: Wudan municipality (乌丹 镇);
- Harqin-Banner (喀喇沁 旗), 3,071 km², 370,000 inhabitants, capital: Jinshan municipality (锦 山镇);
- Aohan banner (敖汉旗), 8,294 km², 590,000 inhabitants, capital: Xinhui municipality (新 惠 镇).
