Linxi (Chifeng)
The county Linxi ( Chinese 林西县 , Pinyin Linxi Xiàn ; Mongolian ᠯᠢᠨᠰᠢ ᠰᠢᠶᠠᠨ Linsi siyan ) is a district of the prefecture-level city of Chifeng (Mongol. Ulanhad ) in the northeast of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . It has an area of 3,933 km² and has a population of 240,000. Its main town is the large community of Linxi (林西 镇).
The site of the old Dajing copper mine and smelter ( Dajing gu tongkuang yizhi大 井 古 铜矿 遗址) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-17) since 2001 .
