Hinggan is a federation in northeastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . The Hinggan Bund has an area of ​​59,806 km² and around 1.60 million inhabitants (end of 2016). Its capital is Ulanhot. Its administrative area borders the city of Hulun Buir to the north, the state of Mongolia and the Xilin Gol League to the west, the city of Tongliao to the south, and the provinces of Jilin and Heilongjiang to the east . Its name is derived from the wooded Great Hinggan Mountains (大兴安岭), which run through the Bund from northwest to southeast.
