The Bajaj Allianz is a great Indian insurer based in Pune , consisting of the companies Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Ltd. and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Ltd.
Bajaj Allianz is the third largest life insurance provider in India. In addition, property insurance, in particular car insurance , building insurance , household insurance , health insurance , travel insurance and other insurance is offered.
Both companies were founded in May 2001 as a joint venture between the Indian Bajaj Finserv Limited (74 percent) and the German insurance group Allianz SE (26 percent). Bajaj Finserv is a spin-off of the financial services division and the wind power businesses of the Indian motor vehicle manufacturer Bajaj Auto from Pune in the Indian state of Maharashtra .
As of March 31, 2015, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company had 4025 and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company 8933 employees.
