Bajram Kosumi (born March 20, 1960 in Tuđevce near Kosovska Kamenica , FVR Yugoslavia ) is a Kosovar politician and served as Prime Minister of Kosovo from March 23, 2005 to March 1, 2006 .

Kosumi studied philology and obtained a degree in Albanian literature from the University of Pristina . He was already politically active as a student. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 1981 for participating in the student protests in Pristina. He was released from prison in 1991. He then worked as a journalist until 1993.

From 1994 to 1996 and from 2000 to 2002 he was chairman of the parliamentary party of the disputed Kosovo region ( Albanian  Partia Parlamentare e Kosovës ), one of the four parties that stand together in the parliamentary elections under the name Aleanca për Ardhmërinë e Kosovës , AAK . The AAK is one of the political successor organizations of the UÇK . Kosumi is currently the Vice-Chair of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo.

Kosumi advocated the violent struggle of the paramilitary " Liberation Army of Kosovo " (UÇK), but did not take up arms himself.

In December 2004 he took over the office of Minister for Environment and Spatial Planning in Kosovo and in March 2005 was elected the third Prime Minister of Kosovo. He replaced Ramush Haradinaj in office and remained Prime Minister until March 2006, when Agim Çeku became his successor.
