Baker Gurvitz Army

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Baker Gurvitz Army was a British hard rock band that existed from 1974 to 1976.

Band history

The brothers Adrian (guitar) and Paul Gurvitz (bass) formed the Baker Gurvitz Army with ex- Cream drummer Ginger Baker in 1974 after the end of their band Three Man Army . The power trio was later expanded with the singer Snips (Steve Parsons) and the keyboardist Peter Lemer .

Her debut album of the same name was released in 1974 and entered the charts in both Great Britain and the United States . The two following albums could not repeat the initial success, and the band broke up in 1976.

The group was known to be an excellent live band. One such live performance from 1975 in the music store was released on VHS and DVD in 2001. More than a quarter of a century after its end, various live recordings and compilations appeared alongside new editions of their studio albums.
