The Bachtegansee ( Persian دریاچه بختگان Daryātsche-ye Bachtegān ) is a salt lake in the Fars Province in southern Iran . It is located about 160 km east of Shiraz and 15 km west of the city of Neyriz .
Lake Bachtegan is the second largest lake in Iran with a size of 350,000 hectares . The main tributary is the Cor . Numerous dams on the Kor River have led to a significant decrease in the inflow into the lake. This has increased the salt content of the lake.
