Theming Balder

Balder in Liseberg ( Gothenburg , Sweden ) is a wooden roller coaster model Wooden Coaster from the manufacturer Intamin , which was opened on April 12, 2003.

It was built for the park's 80th anniversary as a replacement for the “Bergbanan” wooden roller coaster that was closed in 1987. Balder replaced Colossos as the steepest all- wooden roller coaster in the world, although Colossos was listed in the Guinness Book of Records until 2005 . In 2006 she was replaced by El Toro in the Six Flags Great Adventure (USA). The track has a length of 1030 m and a maximum height of 36 m. The hourly capacity is around 1100 people.

Trains

Balder owns two trains with five cars each. Six people (three rows of two people) can be seated in each car.

Awards

In the opening years 2003 and 2005, Balder won the Internet Wood Coaster Poll , a fan award for the best wooden roller coaster in the world.

In 2004 the park was awarded the "FKF-Award 2003" novelty prize from the Freundeskreis Kirmes und Freizeitparks eV for the roller coaster .
