description

The farmhouse was built in the late 17th century. It is about five kilometers west of Kirriemuir. The reworking of Baldovie Farmhouse and the addition of the north wing in the late 18th century is attributed to James Playfair .

The two-story Baldovie Farmhouse is designed in the neo-renaissance style. The quarry stone building closes with a slate roof. On the main facade, which is exposed to the west, a central projection emerges, at the foot of which there is the entrance door, which is accessible via a front staircase.

The pigeon house to the south of the farmhouse dates from the late 17th or early 18th century. The masonry of the small building is made of rubble stone. The final gable roof is covered with slate.

There is a bridge over the Cromie Burn stream near the pigeon house . The masonry viaduct spans the stream with a lined segment arch . The quarry stone parapets widen at the driveways. An inlaid stone in the shape of a quatrefoil indicates the year of construction 1803.
