Sarah Overländer (born April 24, 1996 in Berlin ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Hall

Sarah Overländer came to volleyball through her parents and started with her twin sister Lena Overländer at TV Voerde , where her mother founded a new youth group. She later moved to VC Essen-Borbeck. In 2014 she went to the second division TV Gladbeck . With the club, the outside attacker reached second place in the second division in 2015. After the relegation of Gladbeck in 2018, she moved to second division runner-up TSV Bayer Leverkusen .

Beach

Sarah Overländer has been forming a beach volleyball duo with her twin sister since 2012. In 2013 and 2014, the twins achieved top five results in the German U18 to U20 championships. In 2015, at the Supercup in Kühlungsborn , they made it into the main field for the first time at a tournament in the German series. The following year they succeeded in doing this in Dresden . They came third at the German university championships in Bayreuth . The duo has been trained by Bernd Werscheck since 2017 . On the German tour, the twins reached the main field three times. They finished the university championship again in third place. In 2018 they played regularly on the Techniker Beach Tour and mostly reached the Top10. She achieved her best results as fourth in Düsseldorf . The twins made it for the first time to qualify for the German championship in Timmendorfer Strand , where they reached the round of 16.
