The Baekdu Hill is a 206 m high hill on King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the Barton Peninsula, it rises east of Araon Valley and southeast of Baekdu Hill .

South Korean scientists named it after the Kingdom of Balhae , which existed from 669 to 926 in what is now North Korea .
