The Barton Peninsula is a small peninsula on the southwest end of King George Island in the South Shetland archipelago . It separates the Marian Cove from the Potter Cove .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1963 after the British geologist Colin Munroe Barton (* 1934), who worked for the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey on King George Island from 1951 to 1961 .
