The Potter Cove is a bay on the southwest coast of King George Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is east of the Barton Peninsula .
The bay was discovered by the British captain John Roberts, who sailed the waters around King George Island with the sealer King George between 1820 and 1821 . The British sealer captain Robert Fildes (1793-1827) gave the bay its name in 1821. However, the naming background has not been passed down.
