Balkan Cup 1946
The 8th Balkan Cup was a competition for national football teams from countries in the Balkan region . The Games took place in October 1946 for the first time since World War II . The host country was Albania , which also participated in the tournament for the first time. In addition to the host, Yugoslavia , Romania and Bulgaria took part in the tournament again; In contrast to the last event in 1936 , however, Greece was missing . Each team played once against all others in group mode. In the end, the Albanians were at the top and won the title when they participated for the first time. Yugoslavia came in second ahead of defending champion Romania. The top scorers were the Albanians Loro Boriçi and Qamil Teliti , the Romanian Reuter and the Yugoslav Božidar Sandić (two goals each).
