from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 7th Balkan Cup was a competition for national football teams from countries in the Balkan region . The games took place in May 1936 for the second time in competition history after 1933 in Romania's capital Bucharest . It should also be the last event of the Balkan Cup before the Second World War . In addition to the hosts, Greece and Bulgaria took part in the tournament again, but defending champion Yugoslavia was missing. Each team played once against each other in group mode. In the end, the Romanians were at the top with two wins and were again the sole record winner with their third title in this competition. Bulgaria came second ahead of Greece. The top scorer was the Romanian Alexandru Schwartz (four hits).
