Alexandru Schwartz (born January 18, 1909 in Marosvásárhely , Austria-Hungary , † 1994 ) was a Romanian football player . He played 102 games in the highest Romanian football league, Divizia A , and took part in the 1934 World Cup.

Career

Schwartz started his career at AMEF Arad in 1928 , but moved to Szegedi LC in Hungary in the same year . In 1930 he returned to Romania and joined Ripensia Timișoara . When the Romanian professional league Divizia A was founded two years later, Ripensia was one of the founding members and Schwartz came on September 11, 1932 for his first assignment. At the end of the season he won the championship with Ripensia for the first time and had three more to follow in 1935 , 1936 and 1938 . In 1939 he left Ripensia after he was hardly ever used and had missed his goal danger. After a year with Minerul Lupeni in Divizia B , he ended his career.

National team

Schwartz came to ten missions for the Romanian national soccer team and scored eight goals. He made his first game on September 12, 1932 against France and scored two goals. Two years later, national coach Josef Uridil nominated him for the soccer World Cup in Italy , but did not use him.
