Ballast sword

A ballast sword is a special version of a sword for sailing boats , usually dinghy cruisers .

In contrast to the light sword, the ballast sword has a higher weight , since it is either made entirely of metal or contains ballast laminated in ( e.g. lead ). The higher weight means that the boat is more secure against capsizing due to its weight stability and is therefore more seaworthy.
