Tanz is a German-language specialist journal for dance , ballet and performance that appears monthly in Der Theaterverlag - Friedrich Berlin . The journal is kept in specialist academic libraries.
history
The magazine emerged in January 2010 from the two previous magazines ballet-tanz (2002–2009) and tanzjournal (2003–2009). The direct forerunner of ballet-tanz was ballett international / tanz aktuell . This magazine was founded in 1994 by Erhard Friedrich and Johannes Odenthal ( expanded to include Horst Koegler in the editorship ) and was also published by the then Friedrich Berlin Verlag . Their forerunners were the magazines ballett international (founded in 1982 by Rolf Garske ) and tanz aktuell (founded in 1986 by Johannes Odenthal). tanzjournal (founded by Klaus Kieser ) existed between 2003 and 2009 and emerged from the magazines tanzdrama (founded 1987 by Hedwig Müller) and Ballett-Journal / Das Tanzarchiv (founded 1981 by Ulrich Steiner / founded 1953 by Kurt Peters ).
The editors between 2010 and 2012 were Arnd Wesemann, Klaus Kieser and Katja Schneider. Since then, Hartmut Regitz, Dr. Dorion Weickmann and Arnd Wesemann the editors.
Content orientation
The magazine's target group is dance fans, dancers, choreographers and educators. It contains reviews, reports and interviews, as well as information on schools, methods and workshops.
