Ballybrittas
Ballybrittas or Bree Hill

The portal Tomb of Ballybrittas ( Irish Baile an Bhriotáis ) is located in Bree, 4.6 kilometers southwest of Enniscorthy and 300 m north of the R127 (road) in County Wexford in Ireland .

Not to be confused with “Ballybrittas” in County Laois .

Megalithic systems on the British Isles are called Portal Tombs , in which two equally high, upright stones with a door stone in between form the front of a chamber, which is usually covered with a sometimes huge capstone.

The megalithic system is one of only two surviving systems of this type (the other is collapsed in "New Bawn") in County Wexford, which is poor in megalithic systems. It has a capstone with an area of 3.6 m², which rests on the front side on the 1.8 m high portal stones. The large interior is partially closed by a half-height broken door panel about one meter high.
