Balneario Iporá is a town in Uruguay .
geography
Balneario Iporá is located in the northern part of Uruguay in the Tacuarembó department in sector 14 . The place is located about seven kilometers north of the departmental capital Tacuarembó and a few kilometers east of Cerro de Pastoreo . To the west is the Cerro Lenguazo , in the vicinity of which the Arroyo del Sauce , the Arroyo del Lenguazo and the Arroyo de los Bagres arise, to the northeast are the Cerro de la Balsa and the Cerro de la Guardia . The area extending to the north is called Sierra de las Tres Cruces , while to the northwest is the Cuchilla de la Casa de Piedra .
history
Balneario Iporá was founded on December 8, 1965 by Felipe Albornoz and was bought by the Intendencia Municipal of Tacuarembó in 1978 .
Infrastructure
The 600 hectare Parque Municipal Presidente Manuel Oribe is located between the capital of the department and Balneario Iporá . There are three lakes in the area. One of them is the Lago de la Juventud .
Residents
At the 2011 Census, the population of Balneario Iporá was 298, of which 152 were male and 146 were female. The Instituto Nacional de Estadística de Uruguay did not collect data for the previous 1963, 1973 and 1985 censuses .
