Balteratsried is a district of the town of Marktoberdorf in the Sulzschneid district .

history

The village of Balteratsried was part of the Freyberg-Eisenberg rule at the end of the Middle Ages. When it was divided in 1467 by the brothers Wilhelm von Freyberg-Eisenberg zu Eisenberg and Sigmund von Freyberg-Eisenberg zu Hopferau , both estates fell to Balteratsried. In 1628 six Eisenbergers and seven Hopferau subjects sat here.

In 1972 Balteratsried was assigned to the town of Marktoberdorf together with the community of Sulzschneid .

The Bavarian original cadastre shows Balthartsried in the 1810s with ten stoves, the path chapel and the mill on the Lobach . A mill stream was branched off from the Lobach to the east of the village. The water power of the Lobach is used today to generate electricity .
