The Lobach is a river in the Bavarian district of Ostallgäu , which flows into the Wertach from the right after a run of less than 30 km in an approximately northwestern direction at the parish village of Leuterschach in the district town of Marktoberdorf .

geography

course

The Lobach arises just south of the 1055  m above sea level. NHN high Zwieselberg near the hamlet of Hinterzwieselberg in the municipality of Roßhaupten on the municipality border with Rieden am Forggensee , whose Hopfnerwald borders on the uppermost western course to the left bank. After about a kilometer, the creek bends north and breaks through the mountain ridge from Zwieselberg to the right and the high part of the Senkeleswald to the left, and then runs at the north foot of the ridge in this forest approximately west-southwest.

Then, already in the municipality of Seeg , it changes the direction of flow to the north, runs through the two moors Langmoos and Wasach , passes some districts of Seeg and crosses the village of Lobach as the last on the run . After this it makes an arc to the east through again boggy terrain, but then soon changes to the now long north-northwest run. Its banks remain marshy until after the Großer Kirchthaler Moos the first of its two large left tributaries flows, the Lengenwanger Mühlbach, Grenzbach to the municipality of Lengenwang , to whose territory it changes here. After a long journey, the hamlet of Sigratsbold is another settlement on the river.

Soon after this it flows into the area of the town of Marktoberdorf , around whose village Balteratsried on the left bank it turns on now permanently north-westerly course. At the village of Ronried the Lobach falls to its second large left tributary Kippach, then it runs through a collection of places around Leuterschach , the first of which is Ronried; the eponymous church village itself is on the left bank. About a kilometer north of the town center, the Lobach flows into the lower Wertach from the right .
