Balthasar Neumann Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Balthasar Neumann Prize is a German architecture prize that has been awarded since 1994.

From 1994 to 2008, the prize named after Balthasar Neumann was awarded every two years by the db deutsche bauzeitung and the Association of German Builders, Architects and Engineers (BDB).

Since 2014, the prize has been awarded and awarded every two years by the Deutsche BauZeitschrift and the BDB.

The award is given to completed construction projects that demonstrate exemplary, innovative and beyond technically established standards, cooperation between various specialist disciplines such as architecture, structural planning and technical building equipment (TAB). In addition, the parameters of sustainable building (energy efficiency, etc.) should be taken into account.

Architects and engineers based in Europe are eligible to participate. Whereas the projects carried out had to be located within Europe for earlier calls, international projects can now also be submitted. A property must not have been completed more than two years ago.

The award ceremony originally took place in the Fürstensaal of the residence built by Balthasar Neumann in Würzburg .
