Balthasar Tilesius

Balthasar Tilesius (born April 11, 1673 in Goldbach (Prussia) , † December 10, 1735 in Königsberg (Prussia) ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Tilesius had studied at the University of Königsberg , where he had participated in disputations as a respondent since 1693 . Here he initially completed a basic course in philosophy and focused on legal studies. On May 10, 1701 he acquired his licentiate in law in Königsberg, became an associate professor in 1702 and then received his doctorate on November 2, 1717 as a doctor of law.

In 1722 he received a position as assessor at the court neck court and rose in 1723 to the full fourth professor of the law faculty. After he resigned his position at the court neck court in 1726, he took over the second and in 1732 the first full professorship at the Königsberg University. He was also involved in the organizational tasks of the academy and was rector of the alma mater in the summer semesters 1729 and 1733 .
