Daniel Heinrich Arnoldt

Daniel Heinrich Arnoldt (* December 7, 1706 in Königsberg ; † July 30, 1775 there ) was a German Lutheran theologian , clergyman and from 1770 general superintendent of Königsberg.

Life

Daniel Heinrich Arnoldt, son of a businessman , attended schools in his hometown, studied at the Albertus University , where he was matriculated on October 2, 1721, and at the University of Halle, and obtained his master's degree on October 25, 1728 . In the following year he was appointed associate professor of philosophy , in 1732 as consistorial advisor and doctor of theology and in 1733 as associate professor of theology and parish adjunct . In 1734 Arnoldt was also appointed full professor of theology and second royal court preacher . In 1763 Arnoldt became headmaster of the Friedrichskolleg . In 1770 he succeeded Christoph Langhansen as general superintendent and as chairman of the Lutheran Prussian Consistory, the regional church authority of the Lutheran Upper Consistory in Berlin , which was responsible for the entire monarchy. In addition, he was again adjunct and two years later senior court preacher. He held this position and the general superintendent until his death on July 30, 1775. After a few vacancies, Johann August von Starck succeeded him as general superintendent in 1776 . Daniel Heinrich Arnoldt was also a member of the German Society and from 1770 its president.
