Balthasar von Büren (* in the 16th century; † July 2, 1583 in Appelhülsen ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Origin and family

Balthasar von Büren came from the Westphalian noble family Büren , which was at times one of the most powerful in the diocese of Paderborn and whose members mostly professed Calvinism during the Reformation . Except for the Paderborn canon Bernhard von Büren († 1580), who was Protestant , the dignities of the House of Büren belonged to the Catholic faith . Balthasar was the son of Johann von Büren zu Davensberg († 1544, Drost zu Werne) and his wife Maria von Coevorden. His siblings were Melchior (canon in Münster), Jobst (Mr. zu Davensberg), Johanna (∞ Gerhard Morrien) and Agnes (∞ Johann Wulff zu Füchteln).

Career and work

As Balthasar's uncle Melchior de Buren in 1543 renounced , he took over the Domkantorei and the associated Archidiakonat Albersloh . In October 1568 he renounced these offices and in return took over the archdeaconate Warendorf . From an unmarried children Caspar (Vicar in Amelsbüren) and Clara (∞ Hermann Melschede) originated.
