Baltic Organ Center

The Baltic Organ Center (BOC) Stralsund is a German association dedicated to maintaining and popularizing the historic organs of the Hanseatic city . In addition, the Organ Center advises on restoration projects in the countries of the Baltic Sea region and conducts organ tours, specialist conferences and seminars as well as master courses. Specialist publications and CD recordings accompany the work of the association.

The association was founded in autumn 2003. The three restoration projects Stellwagen-Organ from 1659 in the Marienkirche , Buchholz-Organ from 1841 in the Nikolaikirche and Mehmel-Organ from 1877 in the Jakobikirche allow a unique ensemble of highly important instruments to be reborn in the world heritage city . The association feels obliged to maintain this unique inventory. Exhibitions in Stralsund provide information about the activities of the association and the organs in Stralsund. The board of directors includes Martin Rost and Krzysztof Urbaniak .
