history
The house was used as a library by Bamma Vickers Lawson around 1910 . According to tradition, it was the first (unofficial) library in the area. The books were loaned from the bookshelves in the house to local institutions in the area. The trademark was the presentation of cake and lemonade to the readers. In the period that followed, the idea of libraries continued to develop. A full library was created when the North Indian River County Library opened in November 1990.
