Banco Nacional de Comércio de Timor-Leste (BNCTL) is an East Timorese commercial bank based in Dili , on Avenida Nicolau Lobato , across from Jardim Infantil Park ( Suco Motael ).

The chairman of the board is Brigido de Sousa , a former employee of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The BNCTL is the first bank based in East Timor. It emerged from the Institute for Microfinance of East Timor (IMFTL) after it was granted an unrestricted license as a bank on July 11, 2011. The startup capital was $ 10 million. Branches were opened in eleven of the 13 districts . The deposits of almost 40,000 customers had a value of 4.5 million US dollars, 8 million US dollars were granted to 10,000 borrowers, 4,000 of whom were women.

The 2014 report showed assets of $ 90 million, an 88% increase from 2013. The public loan portfolio grew 24% to $ 26 million and public deposits rose 105% $ 64 million. 17,076 people were given a loan and deposits had 160,446 customers. The lending rates were between 8 and 14%. Mortgage loans in 2015 were paid interest rates in the range of 5 to 6%. The start of a mobile banking offering with smartphones was planned for the year.
