Banganapalle (also Banaganapalli ) is a place ( Census Town ) in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh .
It is located in the Kurnool district , south of the district capital and is known for cultivating the mango variety of the same name .
From 1790 to 1948 it was the capital of the Princely State of Banganapalle .
