Anatoly Bannik

Anatoly Bannik ( Ukrainian Анатолій Олександрович Банник Anatoly Oleksandrowytsch Bannyk , Russian Анатолий Александрович Банник Anatoly Alexandrovich Bannik * 7. December 1921 ; † 19th January 2013 ) was a Soviet chess players . From 1998 he lived in Germany .

Bannik won the Ukrainian Chess Championships five times (1945, 1946, 1951, 1955 and 1964) and had high placements in six other events (1944, 1947, 1948, 1950, 1956 and 1966). He qualified seven times (1954, 1956, 1957, 1958, 1961, 1962 and 1964) for the Soviet chess championships , where he achieved his best result in 1962 with 10.5 out of 19 points.

It had its highest historical rating of 2640 in December 1950.
