Banoo Main Teri Dulhann (German: I will be your bride ) is an Indian soap opera that was first broadcast on Indian television in 2006 on Zee TV . content

The story is about the beautiful Vidya, who lives in modest circumstances in the village of Benaras . She is exploited by her loved ones and is not allowed to educate herself. One day the local landlord (Indian: Thakur) Rajendra Pratap Singh comes to the village to find a wife for his son Sagar. Vidya and Sagar meet for the first time when Sagar bathes in the Ganges while Vidya washes clothes there. When Rajendra sees Vidya, he decides that Vidya will be his daughter-in-law.

On their wedding day , Vidya finds out that Sagar has been mentally retarded since an accident and does not realize that he is married. Sindoora, Sagar's vicious stepsister, engages Rajendra in a heated argument, whereupon the latter suffers a heart attack and dies. Sagar becomes the sole heir to Rajendra's fortune, but Sindoora wants to usurp the inheritance and pulls out all the stops. Together with her two sisters Mahua and Chandra, she constantly harrasses Vidya.

Sagar and Vidya are deeply in love, even if Sagar has the mind of a toddler. Vidya learns of a clinic where Sagar can be cured. She takes him there and after an operation Sagar returns to normal - with a terrible effect: Sagar only remembers life before his accident. He does not remember the wedding and refuses to recognize Vidya as his wife. He returns to his family and is reluctant to allow Vidya to follow him. After a while he begins to remember and is reconciled with Vidya. He also remembers that the accident at the time was not an accident, but that Sindoora wanted to kill him to get his inheritance .

On the run from Sindoora, both of them are placed on a cliff by her . Sindoora shoots Vidya first, then Sagar. With the last of his strength, Sagar takes Vidya's hand and tells Sindoora that the story is not over and Vidya will be back. Sindoora then finally kills them both with another shot.

21 years later: Amar and Divya (The Reincarnations of Sagar and Vidya)

Sagar and Vidya are reborn as Amar and Divya the same night they die. 21 years later are the exact opposite of their previous life. Amar is a tour guide in Benaras and Divya is a modern city woman. They meet in a similar way as in their previous life. After a bumpy start, both become friends, as fate would have it, and fall in love. Eventually they marry and their destiny leads both to the landlord's household. Both have frequent flashbacks , but cannot remember what happened back then. It wasn't until Sindoora shoots Divya after an argument that she remembers everything.

Divya tries to convince Amar that Sinoora is responsible for her death at the time. Amar initially resists this idea, but can finally remember it. Together with Bharat, Sindoora's son, who has recognized that his mother is evil, Amar and Divya manage to overcome the adversary. During the fight, Sindoora falls into a lake . Her body is not found and is believed to have been eaten by crocodiles .

Amar and Dyvia are happily living when Sinoora comes back into their lives. In an attack, she injures pregnant Dyvia so badly that she falls into a coma after the birth of her daughter . After a while, Dyvia wakes up from her coma, but the intrigues of Sinoora have resulted in Amar being sentenced to death and imprisoned. Sindoora kidnaps Divya's baby and threatens to knock her to death from a tree. Bharat calls the police , who arrive at the last minute and sees Sindoora dangling the baby threateningly in the air. It becomes clear that Amar is innocent. They reach the executioner 30 seconds before the execution and can avert his death. Amar is saved and Sinsoora is arrested.

Epilogue:

Sindoora goes insane in prison. Divya and Amar remarry with their entire family. Sindoora's vicious goings-on has finally come to an end after 25 years. Divya and Amar find their peace and the series with the fade-in Love Can Never Die has its fairytale happy ending .

development

Banoo Main Teri Dulhann first aired on Indian TV on August 14, 2006 and was a hit right after it started. It brought the channel Zee TV to the top of the audience rating (1st place in 49 weeks, 3rd place in the 8:00 p.m. band). The deaths of Sagar and Vidya in episode 389 marked the turning point in the series and had a negative impact on viewership. In October 2008, after more than 500 episodes, a target rating point (TRP) of 2.63 was achieved. The creative team decided to let Sindoora die to get high ratings again, but ratings steadily went downhill. In December 2008, only a TRP of 1.93 could be achieved.

The decision to bring Sindoora back into the series briefly brought higher ratings again, but this did not last. Initially, the end of the show was announced for March 13, 2009. The 700th and final episode aired two months later on May 28, 2009.
