Baranamtarra

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Baranamtarra was the wife of Lugalanda , an early dynastic king of Lagaš . She was the daughter of a large landowner and is confirmed as a historical person by the discovery of a cylinder seal . Since some texts tell of her extremely rich funeral, which was already hosted by Uruinimgina , it is assumed that she played a central role in the cult of the Lagaš state.

One of the craters of Venus was named after Baranamtarra .
