Barbados is a band from Sweden that formed in Gothenburg in 1992 . The group mainly plays Dansbandspop , a music genre that is popular in Sweden and partly also known in Germany (for example through the band Vikinger).

Career

The band has appeared at the Melodifestivalen four times with songs and achieved the following placements:

  • 2000: Se mig , 2nd place
  • 2001: Allt som jag ser , 2nd place
  • 2002: Världen utanför , 4th place
  • 2003: Bye, Bye , 10th place

The most famous songs from Barbados include Hold Me , Belinda , Grand Hotell , Rosalita , Vi kan inte va tillsammans - vi kan inte va isär and Kom Hem . The band released a total of eleven albums, as well as a music video and eleven singles. Barbados was awarded three Grammis .

Barbados changed singer and keyboard musician twice in the band's history. Magnus Carlsson was a founding member from 1992 to 2002 lead singer of the band. In 2003 he was replaced by Mathias Holmgren, who left Barbados after 2004. Then in 2005 came Chris Lindh, who has not been a member of the band since 2007. Henrik Rubensson played keyboard from 1992 to 1995 and Mattias Berggren (from 1995 to 2006). The remaining members have been with Barbados since it was founded.
