Barbara Boehme
Barbara Boehme (born October 15, 1918 in Zehlendorf ; † July 10, 2003 in Hanover ) was a German benefactor .
Life
“Barbara Boehme ... did an outstanding job of volunteering for the survivors from concentration camps and other victims of fascism . Particularly close to her heart were the so-called “ displaced persons ” who had lost their homeland after being released from concentration camps or as a prisoner of war due to the chaos of war and atrocities committed by the National Socialists . Ms. Boehme worked closely with the Sue Ryder Foundation for " Forgotten Allies ", which helped give Hanover a good reputation in Great Britain and Poland . "
Honors
- In 1991 Barbara Boehme was awarded the Hanover city badge for her special commitment .
- The Barbara-Boehme-Weg in Bemerode was named after the benefactress.
