Barbara Demeneix
Barbara Demeneix (born September 1, 1949 ) is a British-French scientist in the fields of biology and endocrinology . She is professor of comparative physiology and head of a research team at the Center national de la recherche scientifique research center in Paris .
Life
Barbara Demeneix has completed the following courses:
- 1970: B.Sc. (Honors) in Botany and Zoology, University of Wales
- 1973: Maîtrise de Sciences Naturelles, Université de Clermont-Ferrand (France)
- 1977: Ph.D. in Endocrinology and Physiology, University of Calgary (Canada)
- 1983: D. Sc. at the Université Paris VI
Demeneix is recognized as an expert in thyroid function and endocrine disruptors . She dealt extensively with the influence of hormone-changing substances on human beings. She advocates the theory that environmental toxins and substances, i.e. hormone-active substances such as endocrine disruptors , have a negative impact on the human hormonal balance via the thyroid gland and consequently lead to a long-term decline in the intelligence quotient and an increase in disorders such as autism .
