Barbara Fischer (Germanist)
Karin Barbara Fischer (born May 11, 1963 ; † May 24, 2010 in Tuscaloosa , Alabama ) was a German specialist in German .
Life
Barbara Fischer was born as the daughter of Lothar Fischer, the long-time director of the Weiden vocational school . She passed in 1981 at the Augustinus-Gymnasium in Weiden idOPf. graduated from high school and studied German, English and general literature in Regensburg and San Diego (California).
From the end of the 1990s she was a professor for German Studies at the University of Alabama .
On Whit Monday 2010, she was killed in a traffic accident when a motorcyclist got into the opposite lane and collided head-on with her car.
She was married and had two children.
