Barbara Flemming
Barbara Henriette Flemming (born May 28, 1930 in Hamburg ; † March 22, 2020 ) was a German Turkologist .
Life
After completing her doctorate at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1961 and her habilitation in 1971 at the University of Hamburg , she was a private lecturer in Islamic studies there from 1971 to 1977 . In 1977 she became an associate professor in Leiden . In 1982 she became a full professor for Turkish language and culture.
