Barbara Fuchs (born May 8, 1960 in Nuremberg ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). She is a foreign language specialist and a human resources specialist. She has been a member of the management of the Nuremberg Craftsmen's Guild since 2017, and has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since October 2018 . Since March 16, 2014, she has been on the city council for the Greens parliamentary group and also deputy chairwoman of the parliamentary group.

Professional background

Barbara Fuchs attended the Wilhelm-Löhe-Gymnasium in Nuremberg from 1970 to 1976. She then learned the profession of foreign language specialist at the specialist academy for foreign language professions , to which she completed training as a human resources specialist . From 1980 to 1997 she worked as a foreign language specialist in Nuremberg, then switched to the management of a craft business. From 2002 to 2017 she worked in the management of a medium-sized industrial company in the Fürth district .

Since 2017 she has been the managing director of the Guild of Precision Engineering Middle Franconia in Nuremberg with an attached training center.

During her professional years, she also trained as a mediator in business and the world of work.

Fuchs is also a member of the State Budget and Financial Affairs Committee.

Political commitment

Barbara Fuchs' political focus is primarily on finance and economics, women's politics and social affairs. In addition, she is involved in the Burgfarrnbach e. V., in the Multicultural Women’s Meeting, in the Intercultural Gardens and the Independent Women Fürth (UFF).

In addition to her communal political commitment, Barbara Fuchs is active in the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party in the state working groups for women, business and ecology. She has been a member of the Federal Women's Council of the Greens since 2016 and of the Bay since 2018. State Women's Council (BayLFR) active.

On October 27, 2017, Barbara Fuchs was unanimously elected as an applicant from the Greens for the direct mandate in constituency 509 of the Bavarian State Parliament 2018. In the assembly of the Green Middle Franconia, Barbara Fuchs was elected to the promising third place. In the election on October 14, 2018, she achieved a result of 20.4% of the first votes in Fürth and was thus elected to the Bavarian State Parliament. In the new parliamentary group, she was appointed spokeswoman for economic policy and SME representative in November 2018.
