Barbara Kisseler Theater Prize

The Barbara Kisseler Theater Prize has been awarded annually by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg since 2017 in memory of the Senator for Culture Barbara Kisseler, who died in October 2016, and funded by the Hermann Reemtsma Foundation . It is endowed with 50,000 euros.

The prize is intended to recognize the importance and quality of the private theaters and independent groups in Hamburg in particular and at the same time to honor particularly courageous artistic productions.
