Barbara Peters (born November 7, 1954 in Hamburg ) is a German author for children and young people .

Life

Barbara Peters grew up in Hamburg and studied mathematics and computer science at the University of Hamburg after graduating from high school . After completing her studies, she worked as a mathematician until 1990. Then she took leave of absence and began working with children and young people in the theater. In the course of her theatrical work, many plays for children and young people were created. Since 2004, children's stories and poems by her have repeatedly appeared in magazines and anthologies.

In 2008, Theodor Ink meets his heroes, her first picture book. Since then, many more books and teaching materials have been published by her, including Dark Star and Sparkling Stone , Dragons make noise and Kale dinosaurs don't exist !? . Barbara Peters writes for Arena, arsEdition, BVK Buch Verlag Kempen, Thienemann-Esslinger, Hase und Igel Verlag, Kaufmann Verlag, Picus Verlag, Ravensburger Buchverlag and Kilian-Andersen-Verlag. For twenty years she ran theater groups as a freelance worker at primary schools in Hamburg, Lübeck and Schleswig-Holstein. She reads from her books in kindergartens and elementary schools , also for the Friedrich-Bödecker-Kreis .

Peters lives in Ahrensburg .
