Barbara Schurz
Barbara Schurz (* 1973 in Klagenfurt / Carinthia ) is an Austrian artist.
Her works were u. a. already exhibited in London and Venice. She studied Slavic Studies and Women's Studies at the University of Vienna . She studied conceptual art at the Academy of Fine Arts. She lives as an artist and author a. a. in Vienna, Moscow and Berlin.
Together with Alexander Brener , Barbara Schurz has published several books that move between the boundaries of art and politics and are theoretically influenced by post-structuralist philosophers such as Michel Foucault . The subject matter of the English-language novel Bukaka Spat Here was picked up by Volxtheater Favoriten in autumn 2002 for the performance Bukaka says: Another war is possible .
