Volxtheater favorites

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Volxtheater Favoriten was founded in 1994 by politically left activists from the vicinity of the Ernst-Kirchweger-Haus in Vienna - Favoriten , which they occupied . The theater group , which in recent years mostly only appears as a volxtheater , is based on a collective, non-hierarchical concept. In addition to numerous stage plays, the Volxtheater Favoriten is best known for its artistic and political intervention in public spaces.

In 2001 the Volxtheater Favoriten was involved in the founding of the Volxtheaterkarawane , which carried out political and artistic activities in many European countries. In recent years the group has been increasingly present through staged readings and thematic recitals.
