Barbara Unger (politician)

Barbara Unger (born September 3, 1943 in Königsberg , East Prussia ), née Krause , is a German politician ( SPD ). In 1990 she was a member of the Berlin City Council and from 1992 to 1995 a member of the Berlin House of Representatives .

Life

Barbara Krause graduated from high school in 1962 and trained in foreign trade . She became an accountant in a textile company. In 1966, she received her degree as a foreign trade economist through distance learning from the Foreign Trade College. Barbara Unger then worked in foreign trade at Interflug , Polygraph-Export and other companies.

In the course of the change in the GDR , Unger joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in autumn 1989 . In the first free East Berlin election in May 1990 , she was elected to the Berlin city council. In the election in December 1990 , Unger was initially unable to win the seat in the Berlin House of Representatives, but in November 1992 she succeeded Berlin Senator Thomas Krüger . In 1995 she left parliament.
